OUR CHURCH COMMUNITY ROOMS
On the opposite side of the road to the Church we have our church community rooms, formerly the school, with a large hall, (see Picture above), a smaller room, a kitchen and toilets plus a good-sized car park. It is well used by the wider community and ourselves.
Historically, the Parish has been a mix of farming, coal mining and stone quarrying. Currently, stone is still quarried, the land farmed and Marshalls the hard-landscaping manufacturers have a production unit in the Parish.
It’s worth noting that they have been supportive of the church in the past. The remaining coal is where it always has been.
The changes in work patterns have left the church building slightly stranded, in that the village has drifted a short distance towards Bank Top.
